This position will be responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the cost accounting activities within the ERP system.  The role will work closely with operations and with finance to confirm that inventory valuation is current and will be involved in month-end and year-end closing.  We are looking for a candidate who is organized, is a team player, has experience in a manufacturing environment, and has an excellent understanding of cost accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties:

  • Update ERP setup as needed to properly monitor production costs

  • Analyze actual production costs to compare to standard costs on a regular, periodic basis

  • Maintain the cost accounting system and cost ledger

  • Prepare cost analysis and financial reporting (monthly, quarterly and annual)

  • Review bills of material  - labor, overhead, etc.

  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and associated reconciliations

  • Review and prepare sales cost projections

  • Maintain inventory valuation

  • Prepare monthly current cost updates

  • Report, analyze, and resolve low margins

  • Perform month-end journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Assist with annual financial audit

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required

  • At least 3 years of Cost Accountant experience is required

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desired

  • Someone who is proactive and can multi-task

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • ERP experience required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a huge plus
