Luminit is seeking a talented, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Lab Technician to join our Replication Manufacturing Department. You will join a diverse staff and help support the development & production of our cutting-edge LSD products. A successful candidate has concrete and demonstrable hands-on skills working with laboratory experimental setups and related optical equipment, as well as routinely handling chemicals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up experiments and execute as per standard operating procedures and/or instructions.

  • Use optical measurement equipment, like goniometers

  • Handle chemicals in a safe manner

  • Conduct quality inspections

  • Collect and evaluate test data to ensure process control and product quality based on specific procedures and processes

  • Maintain data systems to record and report test results

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Basic computer skills – Email, MS Word, MS Excel

  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic chemical processes

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to do basic math

  • Capable of working independently

  • Excellent attention to detail and good organization of data and documents

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school education

  • General education in Physics or Chemistry a plus

  • Familiarity with chemicals

  • Use of digital multimeters, micrometers, calipers, microscopes

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read, comprehend and write in English 

  • Ability to read and understand technical descriptions and work instructions, document experimental results, and write short correspondence and memos

  • Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group settings to superiors and other employees

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Must be able to work with chemicals such as: acetone, alcohol, adhesives, acids, etc.
