Luminit LLC is a leading provider of optics for lighting, automotive, and display applications. Luminit is looking for a Technology Transfer Program Manager who will take responsibility for transitioning new product manufacturing lines and processes to offshore partners.

Experience:

The Senior Technology Transfer Program Manager is responsible for independently managing cross-functional design and development programs, ensuring high-quality execution from concept design thru NPI launch while meeting required specifications and time to market goals. He/she will be responsible to create cross-functional design teams and to manage design, new product introduction and product transfer to manufacturing sites. The Program Manager shall be proactive in capturing customer’s mechanical, electrical and system-level requirements, managing the schedule, and identifying and resolving problems.

Must have in-depth knowledge of materials and processes used in optical recording and replication. Expertise in process development, material and vendor selection, process control, SPC, six sigma.  Leadership – both functional and project management experience.  Must have excellent coaching/mentoring skills.  Experience in developing global supply chains.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical interactions with customer to capture project requirements, product specifications, overall expectations and key needs

  • Project planning, schedule and resource management (facilities layout, equipment selection, personnel at offshore facility)

  • Project timeline management, internally and with the customer

  • Project business management

  • Manage design, purchase and qualification and installation of key equipment and process qualification at customer offshore site

  • Communicate with customers on project status, requirements, and deliverables effectively and authoritatively

  • Coordinate activities and resources within all departments at Luminit

  • Coordinate and track external dependencies, such as vendors, customers, and offshore site logistics

 

Requirements:

  • BS/MS (ME, EE) with 10+ years of related experience to include direct, hands-on experience in the electronics or electro-mechanical industry in at least one of the areas such as system level product development, electrical or mechanical product design, NPI engineering, technical project or program management

  • Must have prior experience in transfer of technology to Asia

  • 5+ years of experience in program management for mechanical and hardware product engineering, hardware design, purchase, transfer and qualification of capital equipment

  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes involving web replication preferred

  • Must have experience with project management tools, such as MS Project

  • Must have transitioned multiple designs into medium and high-volume production in manufacturing

  • Must have experience in NPI, pilot, and high-volume production for products

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Team player, strong written & oral communication skills, ability to work well with global engineering groups

  • Must be fluent in Mandarin.

  • Travel – up to 50%
