Process Engineer - Web Process
Luminit is an innovative technology company producing Light Shaping Diffusers (LSD®),
surface relief structures that enable high transmission efficiency, and controlled
angular distribution, while providing high quality homogenized light.
Previously an established division of Physical Optics Corporation, the ISO 9001:2000
certified company has generated close to $20 million in commercial sales since its inception,
and has a customer base of over 2,000. Currently, Luminit has a staff of 40 highly skilled
employees, 14 with advanced degrees, performing research and production activities within a
25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility.
The Process Engineer (5-10 years of work experience) would be involved in developing and
maintaining processes for a web (roll-to-roll) based operation. This position requires
a B.S or an M.S in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering with a strong process
engineering background. The ideal candidate should have operational experience in a film
or paper coating/manufacturing, printing and/or other web converting industry. Ability
to work on the production floor with operational personnel is a must. Knowledge of UV
curing, SPC methods, chemical fluid mixing, and an understanding of engineering drawings
are desirable. The ability to specify new equipment and participate in internal design
reviews is essential.
