round tip display film

Round Tip Display Film

Luminit Round-Tip Display (RTD) Film is designed to increase the brightness of displays by making use of  refracted and reflected light to recycle otherwise wasted light and direct more light toward the viewer. The RTD film can provide a brightness gain of 30% to 40% in a display. The round tips are more rugged than sharp tip prisms which can break off in use causing contamination in the display.

direction turning film for displays

Direction Turning Film

Direction Turning Film (DTF) is a transparent optical component that takes the image created by a flat panel display and directs it by 20° up, down, left or right to attain an optimal angle for the viewer. Incorporating DTF into a display is easy. It can be used either within the display under the LCD or on top of the LCD in the display. DTF may also be incorporated in double-sided film with the DTF on one side and a Luminit Light Shaping Diffuser® or Round Tip Prism brightness enhancer. Direction Turning Film is an effective replacement for 3M's Vikuiti™ Image Directing Film II (IDF II).

LCD Display Brightness Film

Our Display Brightness Film (DBF) is a light management film that increases the brightness of LCD screens. Used in automotive touchscreens, avionics displays, smartphones and other portable devices, this display enhancing film has a prismatic structure and utilizes the principle of refraction and total internal reflection to redirect light. The result is brighter and more efficient displays.

Diffusers for IR Sensors

Luminit’s IR (Infrared) Direction Turning Film (DTF) is highly effective when used with narrow-band IR LED sensor applications such as in consumer electronics. An asymmetrical, prismatic film mastered using grayscale lithography, IR DTF film imparts a 10° shift in the angle of an IR 810nm LED light source and is specifically designed to work with Osram’s IR OSLUX SFH 4780S LED. IR DTF helps engineers and product designers overcome the challenge of having the LED and the sensor located next to each other. The DTF directs the light more accurately toward the target (e.g., the eye) and back to the sensor to collect data.
